Gary SouthShore Railcats News Release

St. Paul, MN September 3, 2015 - Take away the fourth inning Thursday night at St. Paul and the Gary South Shore RailCats and the St. Paul Saints played a 1-1 game. Unfortunately the fourth inning counts and was the RailCats undoing in a 4-1 setback to the Saints at CHS Field.

Nate Hanson gave the Saints the lead with an RBI double off of Charle Rosario in the second inning. The RailCats got a Jose Sermo RBI in the next half inning off of Kramer Sneed to tie the game at three. The two teams were scoreless in the third heading to that fateful fourth.

Ian Gac and Joey Paciorek each singled to start the inning. Then it was Hanson who again delivered another RBI double to score Gac and make it 2-1. Anthony Phillips fielder's choice to second scored Paciorek to make it 3-1 and then Alonzo Harris then brought in Hanson with an RBI double to make it 4-1.

The RailCats then were shut down by Saints starter Kramer Sneed (15-3), who gave up just two hits over the next three innings to get the win for St. Paul getting the quality start. Rosario (12-8) got the loss despite working seven innings for the South Shore. Kevin Osaki did work a scoreless eighth for Gary in relief. The RailCats now have a season long six game losing streak and are also 10 games below .500 for the first time this season.

The two teams will wrap up the four game series Friday night at CHS Park in downtown St. Paul with RHP Fernando Gonzalez (3-1, 4.21) going for the RailCats and RHP Jeff Shields (13-2, 2.96) making the start for the Saints. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm and the game can be heard o online at RailCatsBaseball.com with the pregame at 6:45 and joined in progress on 95.9 WEFM.
