
Four specialty games provide big fan fun

WINNIPEG, MB â The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have created four specialty games in their 2004 home schedule that are designed to bring even more fan fun to Canad Inns Stadium.
The four games are: Opening Night â Kick It In Our Capital, vs. the Ottawa Renegades, June 17 @ 8:00 p.m., Remembering The 80s, vs. the British Columbia Lions, July 22 @ 7:30 p.m., the National Post Charity Banjo Bowl, vs. the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Sept. 12 @ 1:00 p.m. and the Hall Game, vs. the Calgary Stampeders, Oct. 29 @ 7:30 p.m.
"The creation of these specialty games and events is proof of our continued commitment to our fans to provide them the best sports entertainment available in Manitoba," said Lyle Bauer, President & CEO of the Winnipeg Football Club.
Here are the details on the four specialty games:
Opening Night â Kick It In Our Capital â June 17 @ 8:00 p.m.
2004 regular-season opener against the Ottawa Renegades.
A 50/50 draw with a guaranteed pot of $50,000.
A tailgate party in the South End Zone with entertainment supplied by Casinos of Winnipeg.
A half-time show featuring the Pacific Island Tour Extreme Team from Australia.
A large Canada Day-styled post-game fireworks display.
Remembering The 80s â July 22 @ 7:30 p.m.,
Winnipeg's Week 5 action against the British Columbia Lions.
The football club will honor the 20th Anniversary of the 1984 Grey Cup Champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers Team.
A South End Zone party featuring:
an autograph session with members of the 1984 team,
a display of the Grey Cup,
and a live band playing music from the 80s.
A half-time salute to the 1984 Grey Cup Champions with video on the Jumbotron.
A big post-game fireworks display.
National Post Charity Banjo Bowl â Sept. 12 @ 1:00 p.m.
The 2004 Labour Day Rematch against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The National Post will donate $10,000 to the United Way in the winning team's province.
The presentation of the Banjo Bowl Trophy to the winning team.
Fans can watch the Blue Bombers walk-through practice Sept. 11 from 10:15-11:00 a.m. followed by an autograph signing session.
A Banjo Bowl Social, date and location to be announced.
The Hall Game â Oct. 29 @ 7:30 p.m.
The Blue Bombers final regular-season game against the Calgary Stampeders.
The football club will honor its Hall of Fame inductees at half-time and in its regular festivities.
A Halloween costume contest.
Trick-or-Treat giveaways.
