Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release
WINNIPEG, MB â The Winnipeg Blue Bombers added another winning player to its roster with the signing of Ford to a long-term deal.
The football club today announced that Ford of Canada, the Prairie Ford Dealers and the Winnipeg Ford Dealers will be the official vehicle suppliers to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for the next three years.
"The signing of Ford is a great one for the football club," said Lyle Bauer, President & CEO of the Winnipeg Football Club. "Ford and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have the same traits: quality, customer service, integrity and are built tough."
Ford of Canada was happy with today's signing.
"We're very proud to be associated with the Bombers," said Jim Hartford, Regional Manager, Western Region for Ford of Canada. "The team is an integral part of life in Winnipeg and Manitoba and their dedication to hard work and all for one effort is what the prairies and Ford are all about."
Ford and the Ford Dealers have committed to a three-year deal to provide Ford vehicles to Bomber coaches and senior management. Ford will also be featured prominently at all Blue Bomber home games.
"This is a real coup for the Ford Dealers in Winnipeg and Manitoba," adds John Kelleher, chair of the Prairie Ford Dealers Association. "Although the team plays in Winnipeg, it is cheered and supported by football fans all across Manitoba; it's a great way for us to all support something uniquely Manitoban."
The six Winnipeg Dealers are also directly involved in the partnership and plan to hold numerous events to help boost the team in the city this year.
"We're planning a number of events," added Kelleher, "rest assured everyone will know we're the team's No. 1 fans this season."
Ford of Canada is celebrating its 100th Anniversary as a Canadian company this year and along with 24 Ford dealers are proud to be strong parts of communities across Manitoba.
