Edmonton – The 2003 Grey Cup Champion Edmonton Eskimos announced today the signing of veteran defensive back Jason Mallett.

The 32 year-old native of Orleans, Ontario played the last three seasons in Saskatchewan after a brief two-year retirement. Mallett saw limited action last year, appearing in nine games and the CFL West Final. He registered 2 special teams tackles.

Mallett began his career with Winnipeg in 1995 after being drafted in the first round (14th overall) out of Carleton University.

"Jason is a skilled player and we look forward to seeing what kind of depth he can add to our secondary," said Head Coach Tom Higgins.
