Four Run Seventh Gives Greensboro Win

Rome, GA - The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the Rome Braves by a score of 7-3 Thursday night in game one of a four game series.

Greensboro jumped on the board in the fourth on run scoring hits by Austin Dean and Carlos Lopez and a wild pitch that plated Felix Munoz for the 3-0 lead. The Grasshoppers added to their lead in the seventh on RBI singles by J.T. Riddle, Justin Bohn, and Munoz as well as a wild pitch that allowed Riddle to cross to make the score 7-0. The Braves cut into the lead in the eighth when Greensboro pitching walked in two runs and Ronald Luna added an RBI single for the 7-3 score. The Grasshoppers held on for the 7-3 win.

Jarlin Garcia (3-2) gets the win by going 7.2 innings and recording nine strike outs while Matt Marksberry (0-2) is charged with the loss.
