
Four Bucks Selected in MLB Draft

Waterloo, IA - With the 2013 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft in the books, four current or former Waterloo Bucks were selected by professional teams. Current Waterloo shortstop Thomas Lindauer joins former Bucks Riley Good, Reed Reilly, and Jordan Milbrath as players where were drafted.
The first player selected in the 2013 MLB Draft was former Waterloo outfielder Riley Good. Good was taken in the 14th round with the 427th pick by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. A product of the University of Texas-San Antonio, Good played 31 games for the Bucks in 2012, hitting .260 with five doubles and 16 RBI. This season for the Roadrunners, Good was a second-team Western Athletic Conference honoree, hitting .335 with 11 stolen bases.
With the 549th overall pick in the 18th round, the Baltimore Orioles selected right-handed pitcher Reed Reilly. A product of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Reilly pitched for the Bucks in 2012, appearing in four games and finishing the year with six strikeouts and a 16.20 ERA. This season for the Mustangs, Reilly finished with 14 saves to go along with a 2-4 record and a 2.29 ERA.
The third Buck selected in the draft was current Waterloo shortstop Thomas Lindauer who was taken by the Houston Astros in the 25th round with the 677th overall pick. Lindauer, who is currently listed as inactive on the Bucks roster, played with the team in 2011 and 2012. For his Bucks career, Lindauer hit .223 with 54 RBI and 30 stolen bases. Lindauer's career 440 at bats are the seventh most in team history. He is tied for seventh in the team's career record books for runs (81) and doubles (21). Lindauer is also tied for ninth in walks with 51 and his 116 career games played are the ninth most in team history. This season for the Fighting Illini, Lindauer collected first-team All-Big Ten honors and tied for second in the conference with nine home runs.
The Cleveland Indians took the fourth Buck of the draft with the 1,041st pick in the 35th round when they selected right-handed pitcher Jordan Milbrath. Milbrath pitched for the Bucks in 2012, appearing in eight games and finishing with a 3.95 ERA and one save. Currently a sophomore at Augustana College in South Dakota, Milbrath posted a 7-2 record for the Vikings this year with a 4.57 ERA and 60 strikeouts.
The Bucks are currently in the middle of a five-game road trip and will take on the Thunder Bay Border Cats at 4:05 pm CT today. Waterloo will return home on Wednesday, June 12 to start a six-game homestand. The first game of the homestand is scheduled to start at 1:05 pm versus the Rochester Honkers.
