Forward Greg Beller Joins Stingrays

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that the team has signed forward Greg Beller. In keeping with club policy, details of the agreement were not disclosed.

Beller, 25, skated in 18 games with the Columbus Cottonmouths of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) scoring 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points. Currently in his first professional season, the Rainy River, Ontario, native spent the last three seasons with the University of Manitoba totaling 36 points (13g, 23a) in 59 contests. Prior to attending the University of Manitoba, the sixth-round draft pick (178th overall) by the New York Rangers in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft played one season at Yale University and one season of junior hockey with the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL).
