
Wheeling's Delmas Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Peter Delmas of the Wheeling Nailers is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Jan. 30-Feb. 5. It is the second time in his career that Delmas has won the weekly award.
The 21-year-old was 2-0-0 with a goals-against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .967 last week as the Nailers moved into a tie for first place in the Atlantic Division with 55 points.
Delmas, who is under contract to the NHL's Montreal Canadiens, opened the week with 29 saves in a 4-1 win at Elmira on Wednesday and followed that up with another 29 saves in a 2-1 win at Trenton on Saturday.
A native of Bedford, Nova Scotia, Delmas is 11-6-0 in 19 appearances with Wheeling this season and ranks ninth in the league with a 2.51 goals-against average. He also has appeared in one game with Hamilton of the American Hockey League, where he is 1-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .963 save percentage.
A second-round selection (61st overall) by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Delmas is 26-12-2 in 43 career appearances with the Nailers with three shutouts, a 2.23 goals-against average and a save percentage of .920.
Prior to turning pro, Delmas appeared in 147 games with Lewiston, Quebec and Halifax of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League posting a record of 69-64-5 with four shutouts, a goals-against average of 3.26 and an .891 save percentage.
Runners Up: Riley Gill, Kalamazoo (1-0-1, 1.44 GAA, .952 save pct.) and Olivier Roy, Stockton (1-0-1, 0.96 GAA, .978 save pct.).
