
ECHL Announces Fines, Suspensions

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Tuesday announced the following fines and suspensions.
Ontario, Utah fines and suspensions
The following fines and suspensions are a result of actions prior to ECHL Game #458, Ontario at Utah, on Feb. 4
Ontario's Chris Cloud has been suspended for four games under Rule #46.8 - fighting other than during the periods of the game and for one game under Rule #23.7 which states any player who incurs a total of three (3) game misconduct penalties for fighting-related infractions shall be automatically suspended for his team's next game.
Cloud missed Ontario's game at Utah on Feb. 4 and will miss Ontario's games vs. Las Vegas (Feb. 8), vs. Utah (Feb. 10 and Feb. 11) and at Las Vegas (Feb. 12).
Ontario's Derek Couture has been suspended for five games under Rule #46.8. He missed Ontario's game at Utah on Feb. 4 and will miss Ontario's games vs. Las Vegas (Feb. 8), vs. Utah (Feb. 10 and Feb. 11) and at Las Vegas (Feb. 12).
Ontario's Steven Tarasuk has been suspended for three games under Rule #46.8. He missed Ontario's game at Utah on Feb. 4 and will miss Ontario's games vs. Las Vegas (Feb. 8) and vs. Utah (Feb. 10).
Cloud, Couture and Tarasuk were all fined an undisclosed amount under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
Ontario head coach Jason Christie has been fined an undisclosed amount under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
The Ontario organization has also been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of its players' actions prior to the start of the game.
Utah's Jordan Foreman has been suspended for four games under Rule #46.8. He missed Utah's game against Ontario on Feb. 4 and will miss Utah's games vs. Bakersfield (Feb. 8) and at Ontario (Feb. 10 and Feb. 11).
Utah's Cody Lampl has been suspended for four games under Rule #46.8. He missed Utah's game against Ontario on Feb. 4 and will miss Utah's games vs. Bakersfield (Feb. 8) and at Ontario (Feb. 10 and Feb. 11).
Utah's Matt Sorteberg has been suspended for three games under Rule #46.8 He missed Utah's game against Ontario on Feb. 4 and will miss Utah's games vs. Bakersfield (Feb. 8) and at Ontario (Feb. 10).
Foreman, Lampl, Sorteberg, as well as Utah's Nick Tuzzolino and Mitch Wahl were each fined an undisclosed amount under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Utah head coach Kevin Colley has been fined an undisclosed amount under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
The Utah organization has also been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of its players' actions prior to the start of the game.
Utah's LoVecchio fined, suspended
Utah's Jeff LoVecchio has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #458, Ontario at Utah, on Feb. 4.
LoVecchio received an instigating penalty with 29 seconds remaining in the third period of the game. He is suspended under Rule 46.11, which states that any player deemed to be the instigator or aggressor of an altercation in the final five (5) minutes of regulation, or at anytime in overtime, shall be automatically suspended from his team's next game. He is also fined an undisclosed amount under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

LoVecchio will miss Utah's game against Bakersfield on Feb. 8.
Alaska's Marsh fined
Alaska's Tyson Marsh has been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #454, Alaska at Las Vegas, on Feb. 4.
Marsh was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for interference under Rule #56.5 at 3:58 of the first period. He is fined under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
