
Stockton's Doyle Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Chris Doyle of the Stockton Thunder is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Jan. 30-Feb. 5.
The 21-year-old center scored four goals, added three assists and was a +4 last week as the Thunder went 2-0-1, improving to 8-1-1 in their last 10 games.
Doyle scored two goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-1 win at Bakersfield on Wednesday and tallied four points (1g-3a) and was a +3 in Stockton's 7-2 victory against Idaho on Friday. He ended the week with a goal in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Steelheads on Saturday.
A native of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Doyle has 13 points (9g-4a) in 11 games with Stockton. He also has appeared in 13 games with South Carolina this season, and has totaled 24 points (14g-10a) in 24 ECHL games.
A fifth-round selection (141st overall) by the New York Rangers in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Doyle scored 240 points (100g-140a) in 235 career games in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with Prince Edward Island and Victoriaville and tallied 14 points (6g-8a) in 20 games with Mississauga of the Ontario Hockey League.
On behalf of Chris Doyle, a case of pucks will be donated to a Stockton youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 25,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
