Gladiators Acquire Goaltender Zapolski from Toledo

The Gwinnett Gladiators have acquired goaltender Ryan Zapolski from the Toledo Walleye in exchange for future considerations.

Zapolski has appeared in two games with the Walleye this season, where he earned a 2.02 goals against average and a .932 save percentage. Zapolski also skated with Kalamazoo where he earned a 1-0-0 record and a .935 save percentage this season. He began the season with Stockton but did not appear in a game with the Thunder.

Zapolski completed his final collegiate season at Mercyhurst College last year. He finished iwth a .920 save percentage and a 2.84 goals against average in 31 games. In four seasons at Mercyhurst, Zapolski notched .919 save percentage and recorded a 48-43-11 record in his four year collegiate career.

The Erie, Pennsylvania native appeared in one Kelly Cup Playoff game with the Florida Everblades following his final collegiate season. He posted 37 saves in a 5-3 loss at Kalamazoo in game 5 of the Division Semi-Finals.

Zapolski should be available for the Gladiators for Thursday's 7:05 p.m. tilt against the Florida Everblades at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.

The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres and the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
