Forward David Estrada Named to USL Team of the Week for Week 13

SEATTLE, WASH. - Sounders FC 2 forward David Estrada today was named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 13. He scored twice in a two-minute span on Sunday to secure a 2-1 victory for S2 over OKC Energy FC at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma. Additionally, Sounders FC Academy player Sakari Carter was named to the Team of the Week bench after starting at centerback and playing the full 90 minutes.

With Seattle down 1-0 late in the second half, Estrada evened the match at 1-1 in the 83rd minute. He received the ball just beyond the 18-yard line, tapped it between two defenders, and powered it into the back of the net for his first goal of the game. Two minutes later, in the 85th, Estrada scored the game-winning goal by finding a rebound in open space and lifting the ball into the top of the net to make it 2-1. The forward now leads the team and ranks tied for fifth in the USL with six goals this season.
S2 returns to the pitch on Saturday, June 16, at Las Vegas Lights FC at 8:00 p.m. PT. The match will be live-streamed on ESPN+.
