Nashville SC Loans Keeper CJ Cochran to Fresno FC

June 12, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Nashville SC News Release

NASHVILLE - Nashville SC is on an unbeaten run of 10 games, and it seems like every move head coach Gary Smith has made in the last two months has paid off. Whether it has been squad rotation or putting players in positions to succeed, Smith has found a chemistry that any good team should have.

One position where Nashville has superior depth is at keeper. Matt Pickens has been arguably the best keeper in the USL, highlighted by his six clean sheets and his 80.5% save pct. It hasn't left much playing time for keeper CJ Cochran. Cochran came to Nashville after having led OKC Energy to the USL Western Conference Finals.

In order to keep Cochran fresh and game-ready, he will be loaned out to fellow USL expansion side Fresno FC for a loan and will be immediately available for selection by the Foxes. Fresno sits just outside the USL Western Conference playoff picture with a record of 3-4-7. The club has allowed the eighth-most goals in the USL with 18 and has just three shutouts in 14 games.

Cochran will get his first chance at playing time in a Fresno FC uniform on Wednesday night when the Foxes will host Sacramento Republic FC at 9 p.m. CST. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

Terms of the loan agreement are not public, per club policy.
