Former West Scranton Star Evan Prall Slated to be a Pioneer in 2008

(Wilkes-Barre) The 2007 American Conference Champion Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers continued to load up for a 2008 Arena Cup run with the addition of East Stroudsburg and West Scranton High School standout Evan Prall.

"I love everything about Evan: production, tough, hungry and a guy you absolutely want in your foxhole," said Head Coach Rich Ingold.

The 5'11 182 pound Prall put up huge numbers in four year's at East Stroudsburg as a 2006 East Coast All-Star Bowl selection he made 76 catches for 1174 yards and 17 touchdowns. His junior year he was named an All American after setting school records with 88 receptions for 1766 yards and 23 touchdowns. In total Prall caught 236 passes and set PSAC records for receiving yards (4,093) and touchdowns (50) in his career at ESU.

Pioneers general manager and West Scranton Alumnus Joe Shaughnessy said about Prall, "I've followed Evan since Anthracite Junior football and have always marveled at his talent. I'm very happy to see a fellow Invader join the Pioneers."

Evan spent time in camp with the Arizona Cardinals and on the practice squad of the New York Jets.

The Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton Pioneers will be kicking off their seventh season in the arenafootball2 league with the af2 opening night game in Quad City on March 28th. Their home opener will be Friday, April 11 versus the Mahoning Valley Thunder. Season tickets for the Pioneers 2008 season are now on sale!
