ALBANY, NY - The Albany Conquest and Head Coach Jeff Hoffman announced today the coaching staff for the 2008 Conquest season.

Justin Polizzi - Wide Receivers Coach/Manager of Football Operations
Jermaine Younger - Offensive & Defensive Line Coach/Special Teams Coordinator
Alvin Ashley - Defensive Coordinator
Dave Bochette - Special Assistant Coach
"I believe we have the right staff to have a great season based on their experiences, knowledge, competitiveness and love for arena football," said Coach Hoffman. "Our coaches' passion will fuel them to be successful."
Justin Polizzi returns for his second season on the Conquest coaching staff and first year as the Assistant Coach in charge of the wide receivers; he also serves in the front office as the Manager of Football Operations. Polizzi served as the Defensive Backs Coach for RPI in the fall of 2007, helping RPI win the Liberty League Championship and a berth into the NCAA Division III Playoffs.
Jermaine Younger joins the Conquest for his first season with Albany and will serve as both the Special Teams Coordinator and the Offensive and Defensive Line coach. Younger has extensive playing experience in both the CFL and Arena Football League and has four years of high school coaching experience. Younger is also heavily involved in Little League Football in Bountiful, Utah as a coach and as the League President.
Alvin Ashley joins the Conquest for his first season with Albany and will serve as the Defensive Coordinator. Ashley had an eleven-year playing career in the Arena Football League and holds several distinguished milestones. He was the sixth player in AFL history to record 15,000 All-Purpose Yards, he is one of only five players in the AHL to log both 5,000 career receiving yards and 5,000 return yards. He is one of only seven AFL players to have both 10,000 career all-purpose yards and 500 receptions.
Dave Bochette (pronounced boh-KEHT) returns for his seventh season with the Conquest and will serve as a Special Assistant Coach. Bochette holds over 35 years of coaching experience, including six years as the Head Coach at Hudson Valley Community College, where he still holds the school record for winning percentage as a Head Coach (0.792). Bochette served as the Head Coach of the Lansingburgh Central School Varsity for six years and the Junior Varsity Head Coach for five years; he also worked as Lansingburgh's Athletic Director for thirteen years before retiring in 2007.
The Conquest will kick off their 2008 Training Camp on Sunday, March 9th at 8:00 am at their practice facility, Center City Arena in Schenectady. Albany's regular season opener comes on the road at the Mahoning Valley Thunder on Saturday, March 29th at 7:05 pm. The Conquest's home opener will be on Sunday, April 13th at 4:00 pm against the Peoria Pirates at the Times Union Center.
