Central Valley Coyotes News Release
The Central Valley Coyotes hosted their first Annual Port and Pigskin event this past Wednesday, where female fans from all corners of the Central Valley enjoyed great food, great wine, and a wealth of arena football knowledge.
Debbie and Joey Milla from the Fresno based Milla Vineyards supplied an excellent selection for the wine tasting. Andrew Isolano, owner of the New York Family Deli, was kind enough to provide a venue and the food for this special event.
Participants of the first annual Port and Pigskin received many benefits by attending this event including, a wine glass, a ticket to a Coyotes home game, and admission to the 2008 Fresno County Wine Journey to be held April 12th and 13th. Also, a portion of the $30 entrance fee for each participant goes to "A Child's Dream" foundation. This organization was started by a local 9-year-old girl and acts to bring necessities to homeless people though out the Central Valley. For more information about this cause, please contact Alex Van Buren at achildsdream@comcast.net.
The second part of the Port and Pigskin event featured an arena football 101 with Coyotes Head Coach Fred Biletnikoff Jr. Coach Biletnikoff gave a half hour overview of the ins and outs of the indoor game and then engaged the participants in a question and answer session.
"This is a good event and I am happy to share my knowledge of arena football with the ladies of the Central Valley," Biletnikoff said. "The facilities at the New York Family Deli are excellent and we really appreciate the support of Milla Vinyards."
The Coyotes begin training camp this Saturday, March 8th and their first game will be in Bossier-Shreveport on March 29th. Central Valley's first home game will be at Selland Arena on April 26th, when the Coyotes will be hosting their Western Division rival Spokane Shock.
