
Former Rockets Face-Off in Canada West Finals

Four former Rockets are set to battle for the Canada West Championship. Jordon Cooke, Mackenzie Johnston and the rest of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies team will take on Tyson Baillie, Cole Linaker and the University of Alberta Golden Bears.
The Huskies beat the University of Calgary Dinos 2-1 in their semifinal matchup, while the Golden Bears disposed of the Mount Royal Cougars in back-to-back games to secure their spot in the finals.
Cooke played in 149 games for the Rockets during his time in Kelowna. He finished his WHL career with a 92-34-4-8 record to go along with a 2.54 GAA and a .915 save percentage and nine shutouts over that span. Cooke appeared in 23 games for the Huskies during this regular season where he had a record of 16-7-0-0 to go with a 2.29 GAA and a .920 save percentage.
Johnston suited up in 233 games for the Rockets where he put up eight goals and 26 assists for 34 points. He finished off his Rockets career with a -8 +/- rating and 75 penalty minutes over that span. The Swift Current product appeared in 18 playoff games where he registered two assists, 12 penalty minutes and a -5 +/- rating. In 13 games this season with the Huskies, Johnston recorded two goals and five assists for seven points.
In Kelowna, Baillie donned Rockets silks for 329 games, racking up 138 goals and 172 assists for 310 points along the way. He also had a +107 +/- rating and 273 penalty minutes. Baillie played in 64 playoff games, recording 27 goals and 36 assists for 63 points. He had one goal and five assists for six points in five games at the 2015 Memorial Cup tournament. In 27 games this season with the Bears, he recorded 6 goals and 19 assists for 25 points.
Linaker put up 45 goals and 75 assists for 120 points in his 253 games as a Rocket. Linaker also had a +66 +/- rating and 95 penalty minutes over his time in Kelowna. He appeared in 62 playoff games for Kelowna and recorded 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points in that span. In eight games this season with the U of A, Linaker recorded one goal and one assist for two points.
The best-of-three Canada West Finals kick off on Thursday, March 2nd at 6:00pm. The winner of the series will move on to compete in the U Sports University Cup being held at the University of New Brunswick from March 15-18.
