Prince Albert Raiders News Release
Prince Albert, SK - The Raiders are pleased to announced Roger Mayert will be inducted into the Wall of Honour as a builder prior to Saturday's game against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
Mayert joins Raiders alumnus Chris Phillips as this year's inductees.
Roger Mayert has been a long-time volunteer with the Prince Albert Raiders and has made contributions to the organization for more than 40 years. He began as a season ticket holder in 1971. He has also served on the Raider Board of Directors for more than 15 years.
Early in Raider history, Mayert coordinated the box office to ensure volunteers were there to sell tickets. When the Ches Leach Lounge was originally built, he operated and secured volunteers for the bar.
Mayert continues to be an integral part of any and all Raider functions, including the Father Daughter Gala, Raider Year End Awards, and the Green and Gold Ladies Night Out. Recently, he has managed the Scouts and Media room, ensuring there is coffee and pizza available and being an ambassador of the hockey club for scouts and media that attend games.
Mayert and Phillips will be inducted in a ceremony prior to Saturday's game against Lethbridge. Puck drop is 7 p.m. Tickets are available at tickets.raiderhockey.com, the Raider Office, or by calling 306-764-5348.
As part of Wall Of Honour Weekend, the Raiders are hosting Unplugged And On Tap With Chris Phillips on Friday, March 2 in the Ches Leach Lounge, presented by OK Tire and Lake Country Co-Op. Tickets are $25 each, or $200 for a table of eight and can be purchased at the Raider Office. The evening features the Raiders game in Swift Current on the screens in the Ches Leach Lounge, plus a hot stove with Chris Phillips in the intermissions hosted by Kelly Taylor. Pizza and wings are included in the price of the ticket.
