LOVES PARK, Ill. - Former Rockford RiverHawk Travis Scott is in Class AA.

The Pittsburgh Pirates promoted the catcher from extended spring training to their Double-A affiliate at Altoona of the Eastern League earlier this month. Scott is batting .182 with a RBI in three games with the Curve.

Earlier this season, he played three games with high A affiliate at Bradenton of the Florida State League. He went 3-for-11 with the Marauders.

Scott threw out 34 percent of opposing basestealers, the best percentage in the Northern League, in 2010. Though he didn't have enough plate appearances to qualify for the batting title, Scott hit .300 with five home runs and 29 RBI in 65 games. Scott began last season in the Seattle organization. He hit a combined .254 with five homers and 23 RBI at Class AA West Tennessee and high Class A High Desert.

The Los Angeles Angels signed him in November, only to lose him the following month to the Pirates in the minor-league phase of the Rule 5 Draft.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 19th season. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Fans can also visit www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
