
Former Major Leaguer Joins Cutters Coaching Staff

Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Philadelphia Phillies have announced that former Minnesota Twin infielder Matt Tolbert will join the coaching staff of the Williamsport Crosscutters.
Cutters manager Shawn Williams said, "We look forward to having Matt join our staff. He is a professional, hardworking, and makes everyone around him better."
Drafted in the 16th round of the 2004 draft by the Twins, Tolbert made his major league debut with Minnesota in 2008. Known as an excellent defensive player, he appeared in a total of 247 major league games with the Twins compiling a lifetime average of .230.
On his transition to the coaching ranks, Tolbert said, "I'm excited to get started on the next phase of my baseball career and look forward to the excitement of helping young players improve."
Tolbert spent the entire 2013 season and the first half of 2014 in the Phillies organization before recently announcing his retirement from playing.
