CT Tigers Homestand Preview August 6-11

NORWICH, CT- The Connecticut Tigers kick off the month of August at Dodd Stadium with a big six game homestand beginning Wednesday, August 6th. The Tigers are in the hunt for a playoff spot and welcome the Jamestown Jammers (Pirates) and State College Spikes (Cardinals) to town, each for a three game series. The homestand is highlighted by the annual Military Appreciation Night presented by the Better Business Bureau Military Line on Friday, August 8th.

It all starts Wednesday, August 6th as the Tigers and Jamestown Jammers square off at 7:05 pm. It's Wednesday Family Four Pack Night; get four reserved tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas, and a bag of popcorn all for just $40! It's also Price Chopper Wednesday. Show your Price Chopper card at the box office for a special buy-one-get-one-free offer. Offers cannot be combined.

The first 100 kids 12 & under through the gates will receive a pair of CT Tigers EyeBlack stickers courtesy of EyeBlack!

On Thursday, it's Thirsty Thursday featuring Happy Hour at the Hole In The Wall Bar beginning at 5 pm. There will be live music from 5-6:30 pm and drink specials all night including $2 select drafts! First pitch is at 7:05 pm and gates open at 5 pm.

Friday, August 8th is the annual Military Appreciation Night presented by the Better Business Bureau Military Line. All current or former military who show some form of military ID at the Dodd Stadium box office can receive a reserved ticket and a food voucher redeemable for a hot dog, bag of chips, and bottled Pepsi product all for just $7. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a baseball card set honoring the 2014 CT Military All-Stars. The Tigers will be wearing special edition "stars and stripes" jerseys on the field, which will be auctioned off on the concourse during the game. Proceeds from the silent auction will go towards the BBB Military Line Student Ethics Scholarship Award, which is presented to a child of a military family. Following the game there will be Friday Night Fireworks presented by US Foods. Gametime is 7:05 pm and gates open at 6 pm.

The Tigers welcome the State College Spikes (Cardinals) to town on Saturday, August 9th for YP Night at Dodd Stadium. It's also 90's on the 9th! The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a Tater the Gator bobblehead courtesy of YP. The night will also feature concessions pricing from 1995 in honor of the 20th season of Minor League Baseball at Dodd Stadium.

Gates open at 6 pm, gametime is 7:05 pm.

On Sunday, August 10th the first 750 fans through the gates will receive Set 3 of the Dodd Stadium 20 Seasons Baseball Card Series courtesy of Savings Institute Bank & Trust. Set 3 features Nick Johnson, Matt Cain, Juan Rivera, and Darryl Strawberry! Gates open at 3 pm and gametime is 4:05 pm. Following the game all kids will be allowed on the field for Kids Run The Bases presented by Ben & Jerry's and Have A Catch presented by Falvey's and ROXY FM 100.9.

The homestand wraps up on Monday, August 11th as the Tigers and Spikes square off at 7:05 pm. Mondays are Kids Eat Free nights at Dodd Stadium presented by US Foods and The Day. All children 12 & under will receive a voucher redeemable for a hot dog, bag of chips, bottle of water, and an apple.

Mondays are also Social Media Mondays presented by XtraMart. Fans are encouraged to check the Tigers' Facebook and Twitter pages on Monday for an exclusive discount offer.

The Connecticut Tigers are the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play a 76 game schedule that runs from mid June through early September. 2014 individual game tickets, and team merchandise are on sale!
