Kitchener Rangers News Release

Fort Lauderdale, FL - Former Kitchener Ranger and NHL alumni, Serge Payer, is harnessing his personal battles with Guillain-Barré Syndrome as a powerful motivator to make a positive impact in his community. Having played five seasons with the Kitchener Rangers and 11 seasons in the NHL, Payer is now an NHL-certified agent, Founder/Managing Partner of Unlimited Sports Management, and the driving force behind the Serge Payer Foundation. Above all Payer is a dedicated father of two, whom he coaches their minor hockey teams.

Despite facing his own health challenges, Payer has been relentless in his commitment to giving back. Through the Serge Payer Foundation, he has successfully raised $11,000 to support local families in need, single parents facing adversity, and student-athletes who exemplify the values of paying it forward.

Payer has now challenged his sons U10A Team Red Florida Junior Panthers and U8A Florida Junior Panthers to give back. These young athletes are conducting two fundraising initiatives to support their community.

The first initiative is the Player Challenge Fundraiser, which relies on pledges from supporters. Athletes from the U10A and U8A teams will undertake challenges, with the aim of garnering donations from friends, family, and community members.

The second initiative is the T-shirt fundraiser, a campaign based on generous donations. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to the cause by making monetary contributions to get their name on the shirt and get their own team T-shirt.
