Kitchener lost 10-3 in London on Saturday afternoon in what was a very chippy match between the two rivals. This game marks London's 14th straight win and takeover of first place in the OHL. The heated contest included four fights throughout and a scrum after nearly every whistle. The next installment of the rivalry is right around the corner as it will take place January 30th in Kitchener.

Eduard Šalé recorded his first goal as a Kitchener Ranger and Matthew Andonovski scored his third goal in four games extending his point streak to four.

5:46 Jacob Julien (20) - Ruslan Gazizov, Landon Sim

Jacob Julien gave London the lead earlier with a slick feed from Ruslan Gazizov. Gazizov received the puck from Landon Sim at the point and deked through the Kitchener zone through traffic. Gazizov sent a backhand pass to Julien in tight who buried it past Tristan Malboeuf.

6:37 Evan Van Gorp (5) - Kasper Halttunen, Kaleb Lawrence

Less than a minute after their first goal London struck again off the stick of Evan Van Gorp. Kasper Halttunen sent the puck down behind the Kitchener defenders to Van Gorp who put the puck over a sprawling Malboeuf.

2nd Period

LDN 3, KIT 0

3:14 Ruslan Gazizov (18) - Isaiah George, Oliver Bonk - SHG

The Knights scored their third unanswered goal of the game on a three-on-one short-handed goal. Isaiah George skated the puck in and centered the puck to Ruslan Gazizov who then put the puck over the blocker shoulder of Malboeuf.

4:44 Alec Leonard (1) - Kasper Halttunen, Evan Van Gorp

The Knight's fourth goal was Alec Leonard's first of the season. The puck was loose in front of Kitchener's net as Leonard came down from the point and put it in.

10:19 Isaiah George (5) - Sam O'Reilly, Max McCue

Isaiah George scored London's fifth unanswered goal of the game as he received the puck due to a failed one-timer by Sam O'Reilly. Max McCue held the puck behind Malboeuf and sent a pass to O'Reilly. O'Reilly flubbed a one-timer, but the puck came out to Isaiah George who sniped it.

13:41 Easton Cowan (19) - Ruslan Gazizov

A defensive zone turnover led to London's sixth goal of the game. An errant pass off the boards in Kitchener's end went to the stick of Ruslan Gazizov. Gazizov saw Easton Cowan streaking towards Malboeuf and dished him the pass in which he buried, ending Malboeuf's night.

14:43 Luca Romano (5) - Justin Bottineau, Adrian Misaljevic - PPG

At 14:35 Kasper Halttunen took a slashing penalty leading to Kitchener's power play goal. Eight seconds into the power play Luca Romano was the recipient of a couple of nice passes and capitalized. Adrian Misaljevic took a shot pass to Justin Bottineau in the slot, Bottineau immediately sent the pass to Romano who buried it for Kitchener's first of the game.

19:29 Matthew Andonovski (6)

Matthew Andonovski brought some more life to the Rangers when he scored their second goal of the game. Andonovski held the puck at the London blueline and sent a wrist shot through traffic for the Rangers' second goal of the game.

3rd Period

LDN 7, KIT 2

2:45 Oliver Bonk (13) - Sam Dickinson, Easton Cowan - PPG

A power play goal by Oliver Bonk put London back up five early in the third. Easton Cowan passed the puck back to Sam Dickinson at the point. He sent a shot on net which Jackson Parsons saved however the rebound came out to Oliver Bonk who tapped it in.

6:48 Eduard Šalé (8) - Carson Rehkopf, Tanner Lam - PPG

Eduard Šalé scored his first goal as a Ranger on the power play with a slick backhand low glove. Tanner Lam sent a pass cross-ice to Carson Rehkopf who saw Šalé cutting in front of him. Rehkopf slipped him the puck and Šalé buried the puck from his backhand.

10:56 Kasper Halttunen (23) - Oliver Bonk, Jacob Julien - PPG

On the power play, Kasper Halttunen received a pass from Oliver Bonk at the top of the faceoff circle and one-timed it past Jackson Parsons.

14:22 Oliver Bonk (14) - Sawyer Boulton, Ruslan Gazizov - PPG

London scored their third power play goal of the game off the stick of Oliver Bonk. A one-timer from Bonk off a pass from Ruslan Gazizov went over Parsons' blocker and in.

15:28 Evan Van Gorp (6) - Kasper Halttunen, William Nicholl

London's final goal of the game came after multiple saves by Jackson Parsons. Parsons saved shots from William Nicholl and Kasper Halttunen before Evan Van Gorp finally beat him on the second rebound attempt.

The Goalies:

Owen Willmore improved his record to 8-4-0-1 making 18 of 21 potential saves in the win for London. Tristan Malboeuf received the loss in the contest stopping 21 of 27 shots in the first 33:41 of the contest. His record moves to 12-3-1-0 on the year. In relief, Jackson Parsons made 14 of 18 potential saves and was given a no-decision in the contest.

Up Next: Kitchener is on the road next weekend playing in Sault Ste. Marie on Friday and Saginaw on Saturday.
