
Former American Gomez selected to U.S. Olympic Team

USA Hockey announced today the 23-man roster for the 2006 Men's Olympic Team that will compete in Turin, Italy beginning on February 15. Former Americans forward and current New Jersey Devil, Scott Gomez was selected to his first Olympic Games. The announcement was made live from the ice surface at the Xcel Energy Center in Minnesota prior to the Dallas Stars and Minnesota Wild game on OLN.
Gomez, in his sixth year as a professional, was drafted in the first round (27th overall) by New Jersey in the 1998 NHL Draft. The 5'11, 200 lbs center has tallied nine goals and 15 assists through 33 games thus far this season.
