Everett, Washington Silvertips forward Karel Hromas is continuing to compete for a roster spot for the Czech Republic National Team which will participate at the 2006 World Junior Hockey Championships in Vancouver, BC from December 26 to January 5. Currently Team Czech Republic has 30 players on their preliminary roster and must have a final roster for the tournament by December 25.

Last night in Kelowna, BC, Hromas was the acting captain for the Czech's in a 2-1 exhibition loss to Team Canada. If Hromas makes the Czech Republic squad, he will participate in his 2nd World Junior Hockey Tournament. In the 2004 World Junior Championships in Finland, the Beroun, Czech Republic native added a goal in 7 games in the tournament. Currently Hromas has recorded 8 goals and 9 assists this season for the Silvertips. The 4th Round Selection (123rd Overall) of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft has posted 26 goals and 20 assists in his WHL career with the Silvertips.
