Georgia Force News Release

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA - The Arena Football League has announced that Georgia Force (13-2) QB Chris Greisen has been named the AFL's Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Orlando Predators last Friday night in Orlando.

Greisen, 6-3, 220 pounds, etched his name in the AFL record book with his performance in Georgia's 55-44 victory over the Orlando Predators. He completed 27 of 37 passes for 323 yards with eight touchdowns while setting a new all-time AFL single-season high for touchdown passes. Greisen's third touchdown pass of the game, a 45-yard bomb to WR Chris Jackson down the right sideline, was his 106th of the season and surpassed the previous single-season high of 105 set by Dallas QB Clint Dolezel in 2006. He finished the game with 111 touchdown passes on the year and still has one game remaining on the schedule. This marks the fourth time this season he has been named Offensive Player of the Week (Week 16, Week 9, Week 6 and Week 1), which is the most of any player in the AFL. He also earned AFL Offensive Player of the Month for his performance in March. Greisen is on the verge of setting AFL single-season records in completion percentage (74.6) and passer rating (133.3) when the Force take on the New Orleans VooDoo on Sunday, June 24 at 3:30 p.m., in Philips Arena.

"Greisen has been the player and leader we expected him to be," said Director of Football Operations Jim Kubiak. "He has been the best quarterback in the league this season and has put together a remarkable year. He is very deserving of this honor and we are proud to have him as the quarterback of the Georgia Force."
