Chicago Rush News Release

June 20, 2007 - The Chicago Rush announced today that it has signed defensive back Dennison Robinson to a two-year contract extension through the 2009 season. Robinson, who was set to become a free agent at the end of the season, is one of the key members of the Rush defense that ranks first in the AFL in scoring defense, giving up just 46.5 points per game, and first in takeaways with 41.

"D-Rob has been an instrumental part of our defensive backfield for the past two seasons and we are excited to know he will be with us for two more years," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "With both Robinson and Jeremy Unertl signed for the future, we are confident that our secondary will again be a strength of the team next season."

Robinson (6-0, 195, West Georgia) is the team's leading tackler, recording a career-high 99 tackles this season and breaking Cedric Walker's single season team record of 98 tackles set in 2002. To go with the tackles, Robinson has added six interceptions and 19 passes broken up while starting all 15 games this season.

"I am looking forward to being here for two more years," said Robinson. "I feel very comfortable with the coaching staff and the entire organization, and believe I have found a home here both on and off the field. Besides, who doesn't want to play for a winner?"

Robinson is in his second year with the Rush and sixth overall in the AFL. He was one of the Chicago's most valuable players during last year's 2006 championship run. Robinson was named Defensive Player of the Game three times in the team's four playoff games, recording 23 tackles and three interceptions - two of which he returned for touchdowns - in the playoffs.
