Four Teams Eligible For Final Two Playoff Spots
June 20, 2007 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) News Release
NEW YORK - A rematch of the Kansas City Brigade's, 54-41, Week 1 victory over the defending ArenaBowl XX Champion Chicago Rush will decide the Mitsubishi Motors Central Division title and which team receives a bye during the Wild Card Round. The Brigade (10-5) holds the tie-breaker over the Rush (11-4) due to its Week 1 victory.
The Columbus Destroyers (6-9), New York Dragons (5-10) and Utah Blaze (7-8) all control their own playoff destiny. The Destroyers and Blaze head into the playoffs with wins but if New York defeats Columbus by nine-or-more points, the Dragons get the nod.
A Nashville Kats (6-9) win against Grand Rapids (4-11) combined with a Utah Blaze loss to the Los Angeles Avengers (9-6) will vault the Kats into the playoffs for just the second time since appearing in ArenaBowl XV in 2001.
