THE GAME:

The Colorado Crush close out the regular season when they host the Dallas Desperados on Monday, June 25th at 8:00 p.m. MT. This will be the Desperados first trip to the Mile High City in three meetings. The teams have split their first two match-ups with the Crush taking the last contest 66-58 back during the 2005 season.

Colorado is in the midst of a three game losing streak, the team's worst since the 2005 season and only the second three-game skid since head coach Mike Dailey's arrival to Colorado in 2004. The Crush have also not favored well in games aired on ESPN2 having dropped all four games on the network this season.

The Crush will look to get back on track before heading in the playoffs next week. Colorado currently stands as the American Conference's fifth seed. Win or lose, the Crush will start their playoff march on the road as they will not be able to move up into the third or fourth seeds to host a first round playoff game.

The Dallas Desperados come into Monday game carrying the AFL's best record at 14-1 and seven-game win streak. Over the last two seasons, the Desperados have won the most regular season games in the League (27) and have already set an AFL single-season record for wins in a season this year.

As well as Dallas has been playing this season, they need to continue to win to secure home field advantage throughout the National Conference playoffs. The Georgia Force at 13-2 only sit one-game behind the Desperados and hold the tie breaker over Dallas after handing them their only loss of the year.

Dallas is fueled by a high-powered offense that is tied for tops in the AFL, scoring 62.6 points per game, led by QB Clint Dolezel and WR Will Pettis. Dolezel enters the game having thrown 99 touchdowns on the season and over 4,200 yards. WR Will Pettis sits second in the League in all-purpose yards (2,659) with 42 touchdowns. Crush fans will also recognize a familiar face in WR Willis Marshall. Marshall played three seasons in Colorado (2004-2006) and is prominently listed throughout the club's record books, including being named the Offensive Player and Ironman of the Game in ArenaBowl XIX.

CRUSH NEXT WEEK:

The Crush will hit the road to start their Drive to ArenaBowl XXI New Orleans next week. Colorado's opponent in the Wild Card Round will be determined by the League's Week 17 results. The Crush currently hold the American Conference's fifth seed. If the Utah Blaze defeat the Los Angeles Avengers then the Crush would fall to the sixth seed. If L.A. wins, then Colorado will remain as the fifth seed. Also factoring in will be the Kansas City at Chicago game. The Rush-Brigade winner clinches the Central Division and a first round bye. Depending on the final seedings, Colorado could be playing at Los Angeles, Chicago or Kansas City sometime June 29th -June 2nd.

CONNECTIONS:

Colorado FB/LB Robert Thomas played in over 60 games with 25+ starts as a member of the Dallas Cowboys (1998-2002). Thomas will forever be a part of NFL history. During the 2002 season vs. Seattle (10/27) as the starting fullback for the Dallas Cowboys, he opened up a hole in the line that paved the way for Emmitt Smith to gain 11-yards and become the NFL's all-time leading rusher. He was also the first to congratulate Smith ... Dallas WR Willis Marshall played three seasons in Colorado (2004-2006) and is prominently listed throughout the club's record books, including being named the Offensive Player and Ironman of the Game in ArenaBowl XIX.

HEAD COACHES:

MIKE DAILIEY, Colorado (107-71, 11th Year): Mike Dailey enters his fourth season in Colorado and 11th as head coach in the AFL, after becoming the Crush's second head coach on June 26, 2003. Dailey joined the Crush following 13 seasons in the Albany/Indiana Firebirds organization, including the final seven as head coach.

One of the most successful and well-respected coaches in AFL history, Dailey's teams have compiled an overall record of 107-71 record, a winning percentage of 60.1. His teams have also made eight postseason appearances and he has won five division titles and two championships. Following the Crush's 44-40 victory over Kansas City on March 10, 2007, Dailey became only the fourth head coach in AFL history to surpass the 100 win mark. He currently stands as the league fourth all-time winningest coach.

In his first season in Colorado, Dailey helped guide the Crush to the largest turnaround in AFL history, inheriting a 2-14 team and leading them to an 11-5 record in 2004. In 1999, Dailey led the Albany Firebirds to their only ArenaBowl championship and was named AFL Coach of the Year. Before being named head coach of the Firebirds in 1997, Dailey served as an assistant in Albany for five seasons.

Dailey began his AFL coaching career with the Washington Commandos where he served as offensive/defensive line coach in 1990. He joined the Firebirds organization in the same capacity in 1991.

Prior to the AFL, Dailey worked as an assistant coach at Towson State University and was the offensive coordinator at Montgomery College-Rockville (Md.). Dailey got his start in coaching in 1981 as a 22-year-old assistant at Georgetown Prep High School in Rockville, Md. The move to coaching followed a semi-pro football career in the Washington D.C. area.

WILL McCLAY, Dallas (43-23-1, 4th Year): Will McClay is in his fourth season at the helm of the Dallas Desperados. He guided his 2006 squad to a league-record tying 13 wins and the club's second division title.

McClay was originally named the second coach in team history on Feb. 5, 2004, just three days prior to kickoff of the 2004 AFL season. In his first role as head coach, McClay's Dallas team posted a 6-10 record. He improved his second year, leading the team to an 8-7-1 despite breaking in a rookie quarterback - Clint Stoerner, then improved the club's record to 13-3 in 2006. In addition to his head coaching responsibility McClay also served as the team's defensive coordinator. His 2006 defense finished the year as the league's stingiest points allowed, giving up just 44.1 points-per-game. He hands the defensive coordinator role to James Fuller this season.

Before taking on the role of head coach, McClay was the Desperados defensive coordinator for the club's first two seasons (2002-03). Before coming to Dallas, McClay was the Assistant Director of Pro Scouting for the Jacksonville Jaguars (2001) and the Player Personnel Director for the XFL's Orlando Rage (spring - 2001).

McClay spent 11 seasons in the AFL as a player and coach. He was the Defensive Coordinator and Director of Player Personnel for the Grand Rapids Rampage (1998-99), Defensive Coordinator and Director of Player Personnel for the Anaheim Piranhas (1997), Defensive Coordinator for Florida Bobcats (1996) and Milwaukee Mustangs

(1995) and secondary and special teams coach for the Detroit Drive (1993). McClay was a WR/DB for the Drive (1989-92), helping lead the team to three ArenaBowl titles in four appearances. In the AFL offseason, McClay serves as a scout for the Dallas Cowboys.

LAST TIME THESE TEAMS MET:

DALLAS (3/25/05) - A short week with only two practices and facing a division leader on the road weren't tough enough to prevent the Crush from increasing their winning streak to five by turning back the Dallas Desperados 66-58 at the American Airlines Center on Friday night.

In winning, the Crush overcame a horrific start in which the team fell behind 7-0 on the opening kickoff and then slipped into deflects of 14-0, 21-7 and 27-14 before going on a 33-10 run to take the lead for good.

The Crush outscored the Desperados 16-0 in the third quarter to turn a 37-31 halftime deficit into a 47-37 advantage. Until the Crush took the lead, it took the efforts of WR/DB Willis Marshall to keep the Crush into the game, he scored all four of the team's first-half touchdowns and finished the game with 106 yards receiving on seven catches. Marshall's performance allowed the Crush to overcome its worse start of the season.

Dallas' Will Pettis opened the contest by returning the opening kickoff 56 yards for a touchdown. The Crush then went scoreless on its first drive after advancing into a goal-to-go situation, and Dallas stretched its edge to 14-0 when Clint Stoerner hit Andrew Layton for a 29-yard touchdown. Three plays later, the Crush finally got on the board when Dutton connected with Marshall for a 5-yard score that narrowed the deficit to seven points. It was the first of Dutton's eight scoring tosses, he concluded the game with 338 yards on 23-of-31 passing.

In addition to the four Marshall TD catches, OS Damain Harrell snagged two scoring passes, while Ahamd Hawkins and Andy McCullough each scored once.

CRUSH LAST WEEK:

DENVER (4/18/07) - The Colorado Crush dropped their third straight game falling to the Chicago Rush 57-66 Monday night. The Crush's losing streak is their worse since the 2005 season, while the victory gives the Rush a season sweep of Colorado and keeps them atop the Central Division.

Chicago QB Matt D'Orazio, who was named Offensive Player of the Game, threw for five touchdowns on 23-of-32 passing for 242 yards on the night. Rush WR Bobby Sippio registered a game-high 114 receiving yards on 10 catches with three scores. For Colorado, QB John Dutton completed six touchdowns on 26-of43 throws for 246 yards but recorded two interceptions. Crush WR Damian Harrell hauled in a game-high four touchdown passes on 10 receptions for 93 yards.

Colorado took an early 10-7 after the first quarter of play as Crush FB Robert Thomas rushed in from one-yard out. The rushing score was Thomas' eighth on the season moving him ahead of Willis Marshall to set a new team single-season rushing touchdown mark.

Both teams traded scores throughout most of the second period, before the Chicago defense stepped up with two interceptions in the final two minutes of play. The Rush capitalized on Jeremy Unertl's interception, when four plays later D'Orazio rushed in the endzone from 18 yards out to put Chicago up 35-24. Rush DB DeJuan Alfonzo hauled in the second interception as the second quarter ended to secure the 11-point Chicago lead at the break.

Chicago would start the third quarter capping a 21 point run when Alfonzo made a 38-yard run to the endzone to push the Rush lead to 24-42. Colorado stopped the bleeding when Harrell caught his first of four second half touchdowns from 10-yards out. The Crush would cut the Chicago lead to one possession, 51-59, with 3:37 left in the game when Thomas added a second rushing touchdown, this time from four-yards. The Rush answered however in two plays with a 12-yard pass to Etu Molden, as Chicago held on for their second straight divisional win.

THINGS TO WATCH:

JUST LIKE KYLE:

While teammate OL Kyle Moore-Brown continues his AFL record for consecutive games played, QB John Dutton has strung together an impressive streak of his own.

Since the 2004 season, Dutton along with San Jose QB Mark Grieb have started the most consecutive games under center in the AFL.

UP FOR GRABS:

This season the Crush secondary has made a huge impact in the team's overall success. The Colorado defense has set a new club single-season record for interceptions with 20, which currently ranks fourth in the AFL in that category. DB Rashad Floyd has hauled in nine picks, while DB Chris Angel has seven interceptions, which ranks tied second and tied-seventh in the AFL respectively (the team's individual single-season record is 10- Floyd in 2006).

YOUNG BLOOD:

The Colorado Crush took the field in Week 1 with four rookies on their active roster. Not since head coach Mike Dailey's arrival to Colorado in 2004 has he had that many first-year players on his Crush active roster to begin a season.

The Crush currently have four rookies on their active roster with all four of those players starting.

BUILDING A WINNING TRADITION:

The Crush are among the winningest teams in the AFL regular season since head coach Mike Dailey's arrival, having tied for the league's best record in 2004 (11-5) and finishing with the American Conference's top seed in 2005 (10-6) and 2006 (11-5).

ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH:

After finishing their inaugural season 0-8 at home, the Crush are now 26-7 under Mike Dailey (2-1 in the postseason) at Pepsi Center. Two of the six losses consist of a field goal in overtime (42-45) vs. Indiana in 2004 and a 51-48 Chicago win in 2005 on a field goal with three seconds remaining.

LOCAL TIES:

This season the Crush have found a lot of good-young talent right in their back yard. Here is a list of players that have Colorado ties:

- DL QUINN DORSEY attended Manual High School in Denver.

- FB/LB ANTHONY DUNN attended Centauri High School in Manassa, CO and later played at the University of Northern Colorado.

- OL BRETT HUYSER played his collegiate football at the Air Force Academy.

- WR BRAD PYATT has played football at all three levels of his career in Colorado (Arvada West High School, Northern Colorado and the Crush).

HE KEEPS GOING & GOING & GOING....:

A true AFL Ironman, Kyle Moore-Brown is in his 13th season in the league and has never missed a game. ArenaBowl XIX marked his AFL record 176th consecutive start. The first 139 all came with the Firebirds organization before he signed with the Crush prior to the 2004 season. Kyle's career milestone of 200 came against the New York Dragons on April 15, 2007.

That streak was also the longest active streak of consecutive games scoring a TD. He broke the record for consecutive games with a receiving touchdown on 4/3/05 in the win over Las Vegas and set the mark consecutive games with a TD on 3/4/07 vs. Grand Rapids. Harrell's streak began with the Toronto Phantoms vs. Carolina on 7/4/02.
