Fargo Force News Release

Tonight's matchup between the Fargo Force and Sioux City Musketeers was a battle all the way to the end. The Musketeers were the first to score, the goal came off a power-play six minutes into the first. However, the Force answered back with a power play goal of their own. Matt Crasa (11) was the one to put the Force on the board, assisted by Ryan Siedem (2) and Tristan Broz (9). With one-minute remaining in the first period the Force took the lead. Goal courtesy of Casey McDonald (19) assisted by Jack Peart (4) and Tyler Rollwagen (12). Ending the first with a Force lead of 2-1.

The second period was aggressive on both sides of the ice. The Force held onto their lead until about halfway through the period when a goal was laid in by Sioux City. Then with only two seconds left Crasa (11) fired in his second goal of the game, assisted by Broz (9) and Salquist (20). The Force outshot their opponents in the second 11-6 and secured the lead at 3-2.

The first portion of the third was dominated by the Musketeers, scoring three consecutive goals to give themselves a 5-3 lead. A few penalties and narrowly missed shots haunted the Force throughout the final period. Then, a pair of back to back goals with only two minutes left brought the team back to life. The goals were scored by Salquist (20) and Broz (9) in that order. The teams headed into overtime with the score sitting at 5-5.

Overtime, however, was short lived. The Musketeers ended in quick with a breakaway goal right at the beginning of OT. Final score, 6-5. The Force are back at Scheels Arena for an exhibition game on October 29th vs. the Minnesota Magicians.
