OMAHA, Neb. - The Force doubled up on the Lancers with two wins in two games, defeating Omaha 5-3 on Sunday night and taking home 5/6 points on the weekend.

Omaha and Fargo got off to a heated start with fighting penalties and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties delivered to both sides. The teams exchanged chances back and forth throughout the opening period, but it was Bret Link who finally broke the ice continuing his scorching hot trio of games with a goal at 19:12 in the first period. Link tallied off a pretty feed from Mac Swanson on a two-man rush, for his 3rd goal and Swanson's 4th assist of the weekend.

Early in the second frame Swanson scored a goal of his own batting a puck out of the air and finding the back of the net. Mac's fourth goal of the season was assisted by Joe Palodichuk and Charlie Russell.

A turnover from the Lancers left a wide-open shot opportunity for German Yavash, who rocketed a shot past top left on the Omaha netminder for his second goal of the season. A minute and six seconds later, Omaha scored, cutting the lead to 3-1, concluding the scoring in the second period.

The Lancers struck again at 9:39 of the final period to cut their deficit to one, but Force Forward Ty Henricks fired one in short side for his first USHL goal a minute later extending the Force lead back to two.

With 3:01 left to play Charlie Lurie scored for Omaha to put the Lancers within one once again. But that didn't last long as Charlie Russell followed that up with a tally in the open cage, finishing off his Gordie Howe Hat Trick.

The Force return home for a special game this Thursday, November 17th as they cross the river to play at the Moorhead Sports Center for the first time since they became a team back in 2008.
