
Force Defeats Legends 128-99, Wins Fourth-Straight Road Contest

Frisco, TX - Thanks to a 41-point second quarter, the Sioux Falls Skyforce were able to handle the Texas Legends 128-99 on Thursday night from the Comerica Center for the team's first four-game road winning streak since the 2015-16 season.
With the victory, Sioux Falls (12-15) moves just a game out of Texas (13-14) for the final Western Conference playoff spot.
It marked the second-straight road game the Force has held the opponent to under 25-percent from the beyond the arc (Legends shot 8-40 3PA). They are holding the opponent to 26.7 percent (38-142 3PA) during the winning streak. The team also tied a season high in three pointers made, going 17-36 3PA. The Skyforce has also made 16-plus three pointers in back-to-back road games.
Miami HEAT two-way player Javonte Smart led Sioux Falls in scoring for the ninth time this season, with 24 points on 9-20 FGA, three rebounds and three assists. In his first game back since Jan. 20 due to injury, Brandon Knight scored 18 points on 7-12 FGA and added five assists off the bench.
It was a back-and-forth affair through the first quarter, as the Legends, behind eight points on 4-6 FGA from Dallas Mavericks two-way player Moses Wright (18 points and nine rebounds) led 25-23.
The Force shot 84.2 percent (16-19 FGA) in the second period to earn a 20-point lead at halftime. Knight poured in 10 points in just two minutes of gameplay in the second period, as well, to fend off a Texas run.
Despite the Legends shooting 50 percent (22-44 FGA) in the second half, Sioux Falls was able to outscore them 64-55 to earn the victory. Smart posted 15 of his 24 points in the final two periods.
Micah Potter (18 points on 7-11 FGA and eight rebounds) secured his sixth-straight game of shooting 50-plus percent from the field. Mychal Mulder chipped in 17 points on 7-12 FGA and seven rebounds, as well.
Miami HEAT two-way player Kyle Guy posted 10 points on 4-9 FGA, four rebounds, four assists in two blocks and has secured double figures in scoring in two of his three games with the Skyforce.
Sioux Falls continues its Texas road swing, as they travel to face the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (20-6) on Thursday at 7:30 PM CST at Bert Ogden Arena. The Texas Legends travel to face the Agua Caliente Clippers (15-9) on Thursday, as well, with tip-off slated for 8:00 PM CST.
