Food Drive Friday Night
December 4, 2013 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Oshawa Generals News Release
Fans please donate a non-perishable food item to the Adventist Community Service Centres drop box located inside the main lobby while at Friday night's game versus the Belleville Bulls. The ACS Food and Clothing bank gives away on average 300 food hampers per month to needy families, the majority of which are single mothers. This represents 310 children and 355 adults per month. They also give away clothes which are donated by the community.
Hunger in Oshawa is a reality. Our volunteers often assistpatrons who come to the centre hungry and begin to eat even before they leave the centre. Our volunteers donate about 820 volunteer hours per month.
