Fond Du Lac Falls 3-1 to Madison

MADISON - For the second straight day the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (4-2) and the Madison Mallards (3-3) squared off against one another but, this time around the outcome was different than the day prior, as the Dock Spiders fell 3-1.
With the scoreboard reading zero a piece for both teams through 5 innings of play, the heavy hitting bats from Madison decided to step up and seize the moment.
For the second straight day Chris Ayers (Indiana State) recorded a double and at least one RBI. The Westfield, IN product batted in Alex Henwood (Nebraksa) in the top of the 6thto put the Dock Spiders ahead 1-0.
Madison took matters into their own hands however replicating a double of their own in the 6th  off the bat of Tyler Plantier (Richmond). The double wasn't the only thing the Mallards did similarly to the Dock Spiders in the 6th, they also grabbed a run to even the score at 1-1. Plantier was a nightmare for Fond du Lac all afternoon smacking out another double in the 7thfor an RBI.
The Mallards would then go on to add a safety run the 8thwhich gave them a 3-1 lead entering the 9th. Trace Norkus(North Florida) retired the side in the top of the 9thto get the Mallards back to five hundred. The series is now tied at 1-1 between the two teams.
The Dock Spiders will be back at home tomorrow for a day game, 11:35 first pitch, vs. Wisconsin Woodchucks before hitting the road for six straight away games.
