The Waterloo Bucks were defeated 5-1 by the Willmar Stingers on Sunday afternoon.
Bucks starter Christian Griffin struck out 6 over 3.1 innings, allowing 1 unearned run on 1 hit and 4 walks. Karl Hirsch and Robert Reaser combined for 3.2 scoreless frames out of the pen, allowing 0 hits and 3 walks.
Ryan Gonzalez had another nice day for Waterloo, going 2-4 with an RBI double. Kaden Polcovich went 2-4 for Waterloo, continuing his hot stretch to open the season.
The Bucks begin a home-and-home series with Rochester on Monday night at Mayo Field, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
