SERIES AT A GLANCE: The Flying Squirrels will aim to even their four-game series against the Bowie Baysox in game two at The Diamond tonight. Last night, the Baysox scored four runs off Richmond reliever Brett Bochy, the first runs Bochy has surrendered all season, in the top of the 11th inning and walked away with a 7-3 victory. Bochy (2-1) issued a bases-loaded walk to Brandon Waring, which made it a 4-3 ballgame and Caleb Joseph ripped a bases-clearing double to left-center field, which put Bowie in command of the contest. After falling behind 3-0 and struggling mightily against Baysox starter Eddie Gamboa, who allowed just two hits in six scoreless innings, the Flying Squirrels rallied to tie the score at 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh. Richmond got five hits in the inning off Bowie reliever Sean Gleason, including RBI singles from Daniel Mayora, Joel Weeks and Ehire Adrianza. The Flying Squirrels went 9-16 against Bowie in 2011 including a 6-6 mark at The Diamond. Richmond is 28-33 all-time against Bowie and the club is 16-15 all-time in the River City. The two teams will meet 24 times in 2012, 10 times in Bowie and 14 times in Richmond. Richmond won two out of three games between the two clubs in Bowie April 9-11 and the two teams split a four-game series at The Diamond last week (4/30-5/3). Following this four-game series, the two teams will meet again at Bowie's Prince George's Stadium for a four-game set May 21 through May 24.

TODAY'S PITCHERS: RHP Chris Heston vs. LHP Cole McCurry Heston: Makes his seventh start of the season for the Flying Squirrels tonight. In his last start, Heston allowed four hits and no runs along with two walks and fi ve strikeouts in 6.0 innings pitched at Altoona Saturday. He combined with Brett Bochy on a 1-0, eight-inning shutout over the Curve in the opening game of a doubleheader. Heston received a no-decision in the contest. Tonight's game will be his second career start against Bowie. He is 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA (1 ER/5.2 IP) against the Baysox after facing Bowie at The Diamond April 30. He currently ranks second in the Eastern League in ERA (1.01) and WHIP (0.87) and he is third in the circuit in opponents' batting average (.180). Last season, Heston went 12-4 and posted a 3.16 ERA, which led the California League, in 24 starts. with Advanced-A San Jose. His 12 wins tied him for second in the circuit behind current Squirrels teammate Craig Westcott. As a result, the 24-year-old right-hander was named a California League Mid-Season All-Star. Heston's success in San Jose came on the heels of a middling season with Low-A Augusta, in which he compiled a 5-13 mark with a 3.75 ERA in 26 starts in 2010. Heston owns a 20-24 record with a 3.28 ERA in 67 career minor league appearances, including 62 starts. The Palm Bay, Fla. native was originally selected by Minnesota in the 47th round of the 2007 June Draft, but he did not sign. He also did not sign after being picked by Washington in the 29th round of the 2008 June Draft. He signed with San Francisco after the Giants selected him in the 12th round of the 2009 June Draft out of East Carolina University.

McCurry: Makes his seventh start of the season tonight. In his last appearance, McCurry allowed four hits and four runs, three of which were earned, along with four walks and three strikeouts in 4.1 innings pitched against Akron Saturday. He took the loss in Bowie's 8-3 setback. He is currently tied for the Eastern League lead in losses (5). The southpaw split the 2011 season between three different Baltimore affiliates, Advanced-A Frederick, Bowie and Triple-A Norfolk. In 37 combined appearances, all of which came in relief, McCurry compiled a 9-3 record with no saves and a 2.57 ERA. He split the 2010 campaign between Low-A Delmarva and Frederick and posted a combined 5-7 record with two saves and a 4.35 ERA in 31 appearances, including 13 starts. In 145 career minor league appearances, including 82 starts, McCurry owns a 38-38 record with two saves and a 3.56 ERA. He was selected by the Twins in the 43rd round of the 2007 June Draft out of Tennessee Wesleyan College.

ME GUSTA MAYORA: After going 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored last night, Daniel Mayora extended his current hit streak to six games. He is hitting .400 (8-for-20) over the course of the streak with three doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored. Mayora has a team-leading 12 multi-hit games on the season and he owns the longest hit streak of any Flying Squirrel in 2012, a nine-game streak, which began April 14 and was snapped on April 25. In his first season in the Giants organization, the veteran third baseman is hitting .310 with 15 RBIs.

EXTRA, EXTRA: The Flying Squirrels 7-3 setback in 11 innings last night was the club's first loss in extra innings this season.

Richmond is now 3-1 in games that venture into extra innings. Richmond is tied with Akron, New Britain and Trenton for the most extra innings wins in the Eastern League (3). The Flying Squirrels went 7-5 in extra innings games last season and posted a 6-8 marks in games decided in extra innings in 2010. In franchise history, Richmond is 16-14 (.533) in extra innings games.

MAGNIFICENT MADAY: Daryl Maday tossed a season-high 3.2 innings of scoreless relief last night. His performance came on the heels of a three-inning scoreless outing at Altoona Saturday. He has held opponents scoreless in 3 of his last 4 appearances.
