Florida Panthers Recall Alex Petrovic

SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers Executive VP/General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has recalled D Alex Petrovic from the San Antonio Rampage (AHL).

Petrovic, 21, has played in 55 games with the Rampage in his first full professional season, recording 17 points (4-13-17) and 102 PIM. Last season, the 6-foot-4 blueliner was named the WHL's Defenseman of the Year after recording 48 points (12-36-48) and 141 PIM in 68 games with the Red Deer Rebels before suiting up for San Antonio in the final five regular season games and then recorded six points (2-4-6) in nine playoff games.

Petrovic will become the eighth Panther to make his NHL debut this season whenever he suits up, joining F Jonathan Huberdeau, D Mike Caruso, F Drew Shore, F Quinton Howden, F Jon Rheault, F Eric Selleck and F Nick Bjugstad.

The Edmonton, Alberta native, was drafted by Florida in the second round (36th overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
