Florida Marlins Hitting Instructor to be on Pelicans Radio Show

The Pensacola Pelicans announce today that Florida Marlins Hitting Coach, Jim Presley, will be on the weekly Pelicans Coaches Show on Saturday, June 17. Presley is a former major league player who played 13 years of professional baseball, eight of those with the Seattle Mariners, Atlanta Braves, and San Diego Padres. The show airs LIVE from New York Nick's in downtown Pensacola from noon to 1 p.m. on AM 1620.

Now entering his 18th season in baseball, 11th in Major League Baseball and first with the Marlins, as a hitting coach, Presley guided the 1999 National League West Champion Arizona Diamondbacks to league highs in runs scored and runs batted in.

Hosts Paul Chestnutt and Eric Lewitke will also be joined by Pelicans Manager Kash Beauchamp to discuss his team and their current six-game swing through Texas as they take on the division leading Coastal Bend Aviators and the fourth-place Fort Worth Cats.

Midway through June, the Pelicans have a team earned run average (ERA) of 3.70, ranked third in the American Association and a team batting average of .298 putting the Pelicans first in the league. The Pelicans have four players Trino Aguilar, Tim Dorn, Ed Montague, and Carlos Mendoza that are ranked in the top 10 in the American Association in batting.
