Pensacola starting pitcher Russell Begnaud allowed one unearned run on just three hits through six innings and struck out five to notch his fifth win of the season. With that win, Begnaud moves into a four-way tie for the most wins in the American Association this season. Pelicans' SS Carlos Mendoza was 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Pensacola offense. For Coastal Bend, the loss costs them a game atop the South Division leaderboard with the Pelicans pulling to within 3.0 games of the division lead.

Shreveport 16, Fort Worth 5

The Sports weren't short on offense as they hit a total of five home runs en route to scoring 16 runs, beating Fort Worth by 11. Shreveport 2B Neb Brown was 2-for-4 with two home runs, four runs scored and five RBIs. The home runs were Browns first and second of the season, respectively. DH Chad Gambill and C Tommy Bryant also hit their first home runs of the season and RF Austin Easley hit his fourth. Six players recorded multi-hit games for Shreveport in the win. Fort Worth, who scored all five of their runs in the sixth inning, got 2-for-4 nights from four separate players in the loss. The win extends the Sports' win-streak to eight games.

Sioux Falls 12, Lincoln 1

Sioux Falls scored early and often, holding a 12-0 lead until the Saltdogs pushed home a run in the eight inning to avoid the shutout. Canaries' starting pitcher Doug Johnson had all the run support he needed, going seven strong innings allowing no runs and just three hits while striking out three. Sioux Falls 3B Chris Hall was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs to lead the Canaries at the plate. SS Angelo Fermin was 2-for-4, scoring four times and DH David Hoffman drove in five in a 2-for-5 night. Saltdogs 1B Bryan Warner was the only Lincoln hitter to record more than one hit. He was 2-for-3 with one RBI in the losing effort.
