
Flores Leads Roadrunners Past Aviators 8-3

Edinburg took the lead of starter Pedro Flores and pounded out 13 hits against Aviator pitching as Edinburg defeated Coastal Bend 8-2 at Edinburg Baseball Stadium on Sunday night. Flores (6-2) tied teammate Ryan Harris for the team and league lead in victories with his seven inning performance. Flores allowed two earned runs and struck out nine in his ninth start of the year.
The Roadrunners once again pounded out double digit hits against the Aviators. Backup catcher Aaron Mendoza came up big offensively with a 2-3 night at the plate which included a three run homer in the fourth inning. The homer was his second of the year and he finished the game with 4 RBIs.
Ryan Webb and Ryan Lehr both continued their hitting streaks. Webb with a 2-5 night increased his streak to 16 games while Lehr's fifth inning double increased his hitting streak to 15 games and his on base streak continues to 24 games.
Edinburg is now 4-1 on the year against the Aviators winning all three in Coastal Bend and two out of three at Edinburg Baseball Stadium. Edinburg will go for the series victory on Monday night as they send six game winner Ryan Harris (6-0) to the hill to face Lavelle Morgan (2-3) of Coastal Bend.
