Amarillo Outlasts San Angelo
June 20, 2004 - Central Baseball League (Central League)
Amarillo Dillas News Release
What started out as a pitchers' duel turned into a high-scoring affair, as Amarillo got by San Angelo 9-5. Amarillo's Cristy Rosa and San Angelo's Dave Therneau both turned in solid pitching performances for the first seven innings, but the game changed during a wild eighth inning in which San Angelo scored three runs, yet the Dillas responded with seven in the bottom half of the frame for the victory. DH Benny Craig went 3-for-5 for Amarillo, while four other Dillas had two hits. RF Juan Rocha went 2-for-4 with a home run for the Colts, and 2B Jorge Diaz stole his league-leading 32nd and 33rd bases of the season.
