CRESTWOOD, Ill. - The Florence Y'alls grabbed an early lead and added on late in a two-run victory at Ozinga field on Wednesday night to even the series with the Windy City ThunderBolts.

After a three-run ThunderBolt bottom of the third, Florence answered back with a massive top of the fourth. First baseman Harrison DiNicola brought the Y'alls within one before second baseman Andres Rios tied up the ballgame with a single to left. Center fielder Connor Crane put the Y'alls on top with a one-out double and added an insurance run in the ninth for two RBIs on the night.

On the night, eight of the ten Florence batters that appeared in the ballgame came away with a base hit, quadrupling the hit total from Tuesday night.

Y'alls starter Jonaiker Villalobos earned his fifth win of the season, allowing just three hits in 6.0 innings. Florence closer Joe Dougherty added his 13th save of the season with a pair of strikeouts in the ninth inning.

With Evansville's win Southern Illinois, Florence remains 1.5 games back of first place in the Frontier League West Division with 11 games left to play. The Y'alls continue the 10-game road trip at the Windy City ThunderBolts with game three on Tuesday night.
