Utah Flash News Release

Orem, Utah - Dozens of Utah Flash fans joined Flash players this morning to deliver gifts to over 80 Utah County families. For the third straight year, the Flash Family Foundation has identified families that could use a helping hand for Christmas, and gone out of the way to make this Christmas memorable for many deserving residents.

"We really enjoy the support we get from the community, and this is the least we can do to give back,"

said Flash Assistant Coach Mark Madsen.

In each of the past three years the Flash Family Foundation has donated food, necessities, gifts, and hygiene products for dozens of Utah County Families. The Flash Family Foundation was started by Brandt and Katie Andersen when they brought the NBA Development League Utah Flash to Utah County in 2007.

"We have loved this whole experience," said Katie Andersen. "Everything from talking with the families, to shopping for each person, wrapping the gifts and seeing the kid's faces when we delivered. We could not have done it all without the help of the many volunteers."

This year the Flash Family Foundation has donated all of the food they have raised to Community Action Services, in hopes that these families can not only get food, but help to create a better situation for themselves.

Along with the donations, the Utah Flash have invited these families to attend as many home Flash games as their schedule will permit.

"I think that what the Flash Family Foundation does for the community is great," said Flash Point Guard Jason Richards. "The community support in return will hopefully contribute to success on the court."
