Indiana Mad Ants News Release
Ft. Wayne, IN - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants were victorious, 107-98, in the first of two games this weekend against Sioux Falls. Unselfish play and a solid field goal percentage played a big role in the Saturday night victory.
In the first half of play, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants jumped out to an impressive 14 point lead. Yet, despite shooting 56% from the field and connecting on 7 of 9 from the three point line, the Mad Ants trailed by one at the half. Led by Pete Campbell, the Sioux Falls reserves stormed right back into the game with a fantastic shooting display from behind the arc. At half, Rob Kurz and Kyle McAlarney led the Mad Ants with 13 points, and the Skyforce were led by Pete Campbell with 13 points.
The Mad Ants stormed out of the gates at half to recapture the lead and take a seven point lead into the fourth quarter. The home team continued stellar defensive play to hold on for the nine point win.
The Skyforce were led in scoring by Reggie Williams with 27 points, and Michael Joiner added 16 points.
Forward Robert Kurz led the Mad Ants with a game-high 28 points and 11 rebounds. Ron Howard scored 20 points, while Kyle McAlarney and Roderick Wilmont chipped in 18 points and 17 points, respectively.
The Mad Ants will resume play tomorrow, Sunday, December 13, when they host the Sioux Falls Skyforce at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
