
Flash Continue Win Streak after All-Star Break

The Utah Flash extended their win streak to five games as they defeated the Idaho Stampede 109-103. The Flash were led by Ronald Dupree who poured in 25 points and added 11 rebounds.
Ronald Dupree scoring six of the Flash's first ten points provided an instant offensive spark. The Stampede answered Utah's fast start with a quick run. Willie Jenkins of the Stampede scored six of the Stampedes first 11 points and with an Antoine Walker three-pointer the Stampede took their first lead of the game 11-10. Neither team with a lead bigger than four the rest of the quarter ended the first in a tie, 24-24.
Midway through the second period Idaho scored 11 straight points to take a 41-32 lead. The Flash answered by scoring seven straight points. Armon Johnson contributed to the Stampedes first half lead by scoring all of his 13 points in the second quarter.
The third quarter was won by Idaho as Jenkins had nine points in the quarter along with six a piece for Walker and Johnson. The Flash did take a quick lead in the third with a Kruger three-pointer but were unable to maintain the momentum giving up second chance points and offensive rebounds. The Stampede led 75-73 at the end of the 3rd.
In the fourth quarter the Flash outscored the Stampede 6-1 in a two minute span to take a 99-94 lead. Gaffney hit a 3 pointer with two minutes left to put the Flash up 101-95. The rest of the game was won at the free throw line where the Flash converted five of their last 6 attempts.
Dupree led the Flash with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Kevin Kruger and Tony Gaffney had 15 a piece while Brandon Costner and Ryan Thompson each had 14 points.
Johnson was the leading scorer for the Idaho Stampede with 23 points. Jenkins had 20 points in the loss, and Jermario Davidson had a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.
The Flash take on the Reno Bighorns Friday at the UCCU Center. The Flash will also celebrate the "Gift of Life" after the game with a concert from Alex Band of The Calling. Tickets are available by calling (801) 434-4667.
