Saint John, NB - Saint John and Hamilton played a scoreless first period, the first scoreless period of the season for Saint John, before either team got on the board. The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead off of markers by Jani Rita and Benoit Gratton. Matt Lombardi got the Flames going with a deflection that found its way past Ty Conklin late in the second period. Martin Sonnenberg tied the game halfway through the third period with his first goal as a Flame. In overtime, Matt Lombardi netted the winner 1:34 into extra time, his second of the game and first game-winning goal of the season.
Flames left wing Oleg Saprykin extended his point streak to four games (2g-6a=8pts).
Matt Lombardi recorded his first multiple goal/point game as a pro (the first multiple point game this season by a Flame).
Netminder Levente Szuper extended the teams and his own personnal winning streak to 3 games.
Flames defenceman Micki DuPont recorded 2 assists (multiple point game) and was named second star for the second consecutive game.
