Flames Re-Assign Three To Knights

The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights announced today that the Calgary Flames, their National Hockey League affiliate, have re-assigned right wing Dave Moss, center Dustin Boyd and defenseman Richie Regehr. The announcement was made by Flames' General Manager Darryl Sutter. All three players will join the Knights in time for their home game against the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday, December 23rd at 7:00 p.m.

Moss made his NHL debut on Tuesday, scoring the game-winning goal in Calgary's 5-3 win at Los Angeles. The native of Lavonia, Michigan returns as the Knights' second-leading scorer this year, earning seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points in 27 games. He also has 22 penalty minutes. Last season, Moss was the Knights' leading rookie scorer with 21 goals and 27 assists for 48 points and 28 penalty minutes. He played in just 63 games, his season cut short by an injury in mid-March. Moss is originally the Flames' seventh round pick, 220th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He is in his second pro season out of the University of Michigan.

Boyd earned his first NHL point by assisting on Moss' goal in the win over Los Angeles. This was his second appearance in Calgary this season. He made his NHL debut on November 1st at Detroit. In three total games, he has one assist and no penalty minutes. The native of Winnipeg, Manitoba is the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights' scoring leader with 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points in 25 games. He has a team-leading seven powerplay goals and three game-winning goals. The Flames drafted Boyd in the third round, 98th overall, in the 2004 Entry Draft. This is his first professional season after four years of junior hockey with the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Regehr hit a milestone against Los Angeles as well, scoring his first NHL goal in Tuesday's win. In five games with Calgary this season, the native of Bandung, Indonesia has a goal and an assist for two points and no penalty minutes. Regehr returns as the Knights' leading defenseman scorer with five goals and nine assists for 14 points in 22 games. He also has 37 penalty minutes. His +16 rating leads the team.

Because of the postponement of tonight's game against San Antonio, the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights will return to action on Saturday night when they host Milwaukee at 7:00 p.m.
