A five-run sixth inning led the Isotopes (4-2) to a 7-3 victory over the Las Vegas 51s (1-5) in front of 9,104 fans on Opening Night at Isotopes Park. The win for the Isotopes marks the third consecutive home opener in which Albuquerque has come away with a victory.

Raimel Tapia knocked home the first two runs of the game for the Isotopes in the third and fifth innings, but the offense truly came together in the sixth. Derrik Gibson got the scoring started in the frame when he blasted a three-run home run deep over the left field wall.

Pinch hitter Tom Murphy then delivered a two-RBI double, capping Albuquerque's five-run sixth. Once they gained the lead, the Isotopes never looked back.

Eight of Albuquerque's nine position players to step to the plate recorded a hit while five Isotopes finished the evening with a multi-hit game as Jordan Patterson, Noel Cuevas, Josh Fuentes, Anthony Bemboom and Daniel Castro each collected two hits.

On the mound, Albuquerque starter David Holmberg received a no-decision after allowing three runs during his 4.0 innings on the mound in his Isotopes debut. Relievers Shane Broyles, Keith Hessler, Brooks Pounders and Austin House shut out the 51s over the contest's final five innings.

The Isotopes and 51s continue their three-game series Wednesday evening from Isotopes Park. Albuquerque will turn to righty Matt Flemer (1-0, 3.00) while Las Vegas has yet to announce a starter. First pitch from Isotopes Park is set for 6:35 p.m.
