From the Notes

Hot Starts: With last night's 7-0 victory, the Sounds are now 2-0 in series openers on the young season. The last time Nashville won their first two series openers of the season was in 2013 when they defeated the New Orleans Zephyrs 5-4 on Opening Night and then blanked Oklahoma City 1-0 to begin the second series of the campaign.

Error Free is the Way to Be: The Sounds defense struggled mightily in the season-opening series in New Orleans as they committed eight errors, which led to eight unearned runs. Last night's return to First Tennessee Park, however, proved beneficial as they produced their first errorless game of the season.

Double Trouble: Last night the Sounds turned a season-high four double plays en route to a 7-0 victory. Three of them came in the first four innings with James Naile on the mound and reliever Josh Lucas induced a 6-4-3 double play in the seventh inning. The Sounds have now turned seven double plays on the season, which has them tied with Round Rock and Memphis for the Pacific Coast League lead.

Shutout City: James Naile and company pitched another shutout last night, their second of the season. The two shutouts through six games in the earliest the Sounds have shutout their opponents twice in a season since 2013 when they did so twice in the first five games. The Sounds would only shutout their opponents five more times that year. In 2017 the Sounds notched 11 shutouts.
