SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Missions concluded their six-game series against the Tulsa Drillers on Sunday. This was the final matchup between the Missions and Drillers in the 2023 regular season. Entering Sunday on a seven-game losing skid, the Missions offense provided five runs in the fourth inning and held on for a 5-4 victory.

It was a rematch of game one's pitching matchup with Jackson Wolf facing off against Kyle Hurt. The Drillers offense got to Wolf first with a run in the bottom of the second inning. With two outs in the frame, Eddys Leonard's second homer of the season gave Tulsa a 1-0 lead.

San Antonio captured the lead in the top of the fourth inning with five runs on five hits. After retiring the first batter, Hurt allowed back-to-back singles to Daniel Johnson and Michael De La Cruz. Luis Aviles Jr. capitalized on the scoring opportunity and launched a three-run homer. It was his second long ball of the season. Hurt was replaced by Jack Little following the homer. Ripken Reyes, later in the inning, drove in Jorge Ona with a base hit to right field. After a second pitching change, Pedro Castellanos was walked with the bases loaded to score Ray-Patrick Didder. The Missions took a 5-1 lead.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Tulsa once again used the long ball to add to their run total. With two outs in the inning, Jose Ramos homered over the left field wall. His seventh long ball of the season made it a 5-2 Missions lead.

In four innings of work, Wolf allowed the two solo homers while striking out seven batters. In 3.1 innings for Hurt, he allowed three runs on five hits while striking out five batters.

Tulsa continued their comeback effort in the bottom of the sixth inning. Facing Kevin Kopps, Jorbit Vivas reached base on a throwing error. Andy Pages drove him in with a double to left field. Pages later scored on a sacrifice fly from Kody Hoese. The Missions held a 5-4 lead.

Jared Koenig entered the game in the bottom of the ninth for the save attempt. He struck out the first batter before allowing a single to Hoese. The southpaw retired the final two batters to secure the win.
